I specialise in the repair, restoration and conservation of mechanical clocks. Over the years I have worked on a wide range of clocks from traditional long case clocks from Britain and Europe to British wall clocks as well as smaller table, bracket and mantle clocks from Britain, France and Germany.
Services
The service offered by Apparent Time is inclusive from collection to delivery. I will come to your home to collect the clock before assessing and discussing what work is required. The condition of your clock will be first assessed at your home and then on the bench in my workshop. All work is undertaken on an hourly rate basis. A short condition report to show what work is anticipated and a further report showing what work has been undertaken will be presented.
All work is undertaken to a conservation level with sympathetic cleaning of the clock to preserve as much of the original finish and parts as possible. Any replacement parts when possible are produced in my workshop using traditional methods and materials.
